Kosh-Madrasah

In the epoch of Abdulla-khan II Sheibanid (1557-1597) in Bukhara was built architec­tural ensemble Kosh-Madrasah of two opposite madrasahs. The first - madrasah Modari-khan was constructed in about 1567 in honour of Abdulla-khan's mother; the other one was built between 1588 and 1590 and named after Abdulla-khan. Facade of Modari-khan is decorated with tiles of multi-coloured brick mosaic. The hall of Abdulla-khan Madrasah is a gallery with a mosque and a classroom. The mosque was a little bit turned to the basic building to orient the pray niche to Mecca. The facade is covered with majolica tiles.
