Kunya-ark. Ak-sheikh-bobo. Mosque

Тhe northwest corner of the kurinysh-khana has exit and corridor leading to harem and Ak-Sheikh-bobo hill. This is the highest point of Kunya-Ark which served as a patrol tower. According to legends a cell of saint Ak-Sheikh-bobo was there in the 14th century. Khan's harem was built under the hill and consisted of one column aivan and several two-storied premises. Mint and khan's mosque were situated between the harem and kurinysh-khana.

The mint was founded by Muhammad-Rahim-khan I (1806- 1825) who carried out a tax reform, established custom houses and initiated gold coins minting. In the time of Allakuli-khan (1825— 1842) to the south of the mint there was constructed a mosque. The winter hall of the mosque has very simple decor and its summer part looks very exquisite. Its aivan with two rows of columns is painted in dark blue, green and red colors. Its walls, mihrab and minbar as well as the small towers along the edges are entirely faced with majolica of exquisite vegetative pattern.
